Tips on setting goals can be found in many self help publications. In order to completely take control of life day to day you need to set goals. The less that you set goals each day the more that you will feel like life's events are pushing you around. Read this article carefully as it contains tips on setting goals. Think of life as a car and your daily goals are the steering wheel. So long as you keep your hand on the wheel then you can move that car in any direction you wish. Take your hand off of the steering wheel for even a moment and the car will drift out of your control and away from your destination.

We have all had that feeling of “powerlessness” in our lives. You spend your life reacting to the situations around you instead of creating the reality that you want. However, I am here to tell you that you have more control over each of your daily events than you can fathom. By studying tips on setting goals, you will literally transform life from feeling like a bumper car to taking total control of the circumstances around you.

I know that you have heard about the power you can achieve from following tips on setting goals and you probably have even been taught about setting career, yearly, or even monthly goals. And even though you have kept these larger goals in mind you still feel a bit lost day to day, right?

Here is the 'not so secret' secret: It all starts with daily goals.

In his psychological masterpiece novel called “Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience”, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi refers to large goals as “outcome goals” and the smaller ones as “process goals”. These process goals, as the name reflects, are goals that you can easily achieve and which in turn will 'process' the larger ones. He provides excellent tips on setting goals.

What are some example tips on setting goals? Well lets say that you have a certain number of phone calls to make and have been putting these calls off for days due to lack of time. We all know that this creates stress and because we did not get serious and accomplish making those calls, we feel pressured or lost and keep putting off these tasks.

Setting process goals would be to write down on paper every phone call that you have been putting off to make. Then write down exactly what time you will set aside to make each call. Then just do it!

You will immediately feel so much better about yourself and more in control because you made the choice to follow tips on setting goals and are working on them immediately. Are you getting the idea?

By now your mind is probably being flooded by the dozens or even hundreds of process goals that you need to get moving on today. Stop! Go slow, take your time, be realistic in what you can achieve each day. Remember, tips on setting goals is supposed to relieve stress, not increase it.
